Who’s your favourite book character and why?


On Wednesday we had a book day,we could dress up as our favorite book character.I dressed up as Pippi LongStockings.Pippi LongStockings is a kind little girl who is funny and cares about other people,she has a monkey she carries around.I like Pippi because she has a cool sense of humor and she is funny to read about.

These baleen mammals are very unique in their own way with their V shaped BlowHole.

What does the Right Whale look like?
The Right Whale is black with white spots they are big around about  40,000 – 70,00 kg  they also look friendly.

What does the right whale eat?
The Right Whale eats about 2000 krill a day.

How much does the right whale weigh?
The Right Whale weighs around about 50,000-80,000kg that is a lot for a whale.

What is the right whale’s biggest threat?
The Right Whale’s biggest threat would be the Beach because if the whale gets stranded it can't just swim back into the water wouldn’t be  easy. The whale would just be lying there and people would try and keep the whale wet.

How many right whales are left in the world?
Two species are left in the world of the right whales, the species are Northern Pacific and Southern Right Whale.

Where are the right whales found?
They are found mainly in Eubalaena, North Atlantic and the  Atlantic Ocean.


Why is the right whale called the Right Whale?
It was one of those slower whales that are easier to hunt down.This Whale was easier to hunt down because it would just float when it died,This made it easier to catch the Right whale.It is called the Right Whale because it is the correct/Right Whale to hunt.

How important were the Right Whales to the Maori?
The Right Whale were important to the maori because of there bone carvings and they can provide food and utensils.

These rare animals are unique because the right whales floats when it dies.

Kaira Athletics Reflection 2017

I stayed positive in High Jump when other people hit the bar I said, ¨Nice Try¨ and if someone made it I said, ¨Good Job.¨

I did achieve my athletics goals by  trying my hardest in all of my events.

I represented my house color by wearing red and I got a pozi.

I did well in Sprints because I came 3rd and I tried my hardest.

Shot Put was challenging because the ball was heavy and hard to throw.

I'm most proud of Sprints and High Jump because in Sprints I came 3rd and in HIgh Jump I tried my hardest.

A big learning goal for me would be to understand what words mean.
How am I going to achieve my goal?

When someone asks what a word means I can tell them what it means.
I will be using more words in my writing.

When you come to school,you think youre so coo.I wanna  be free so let me be.Yes its true,you make us pay forthe things you do.Stop making me pay you always ruin my day.I really try but i dont know why.You feel so glad but we feel sad.What i hear it makes me fear.I give you a hand but i already had something planned.You give me a whack on my back.









Koru Art



My goal was
To create artist inspired work.


What did i learn to do?

We had to look up designs about Raewyn Harris and her koru designs.We were inspired by her.



Use different colours and use the colour wheel to match colors together and make my art look good but some of it smudged and somethings I did not like,so with a rubber,I could rub it out. We had to make 2 drafts and one final copy I think it was easy.



What is my next step?

To keep inside the lines and not get the crayon on the chalk.



Multiplication and Division

We are  learning about Multiplication and Division we had to do word stories and write down the remainders.

Here are some  example of my division word stories, number sentences


There are 34 people who wanted bags of lollies there are only 6 bags how many people miss out?5r4
There are 84 animals and 9 cages how many animals were not in a cage?9r3
There were 47 dogs and owners how much dogs would the owner get?5r2

Silke can wash a car in 7 minutes at the fundraising car wash how many cars can she wash every hour?
6 divided by 7=8r4/8 cars and 4 minutes left.
Tino has used 22 meters of rope to make 4 skipping ropes.Each one is the same length how long is each skipping rope. 22 divided by 4=5r2/5 skipping ropes 2 meters of rope left.
Charlies chocolates come in boxes of 8 he has 39 chocolates to put into boxes.H`ow many boxes can he fill.39 divided by 8=4r7/4 boxes 7 left over

My next step explain the order of fractions, with the same denominator, from smallest to largest value




Dance

In dance we learnt the cha cha and hip hop routines. when  we were learning the  hip hop dance we learnt the strut and the mexican wave and in the chacha  we learnt the new york and back to back. we had two weeks to practice the dances and on  the second week we were the last one to perform.
